Water Can Change a Life.
Imagine a young girl walking three hours to carry a five gallon bucket of water for her family. She has dropped out of school because she has to spend this valuable time to get water her family can use. This water probably isn't even safe. It is most likely stagnant, with germs that cause diarrhea and dehydration. The water is even more dangerous if she has younger siblings, because babies and young children are the most susceptible to disease. This young girl is not alone. Many women and children have to stay out of work or school so that their families can survive.
Clean water is more than just that to women and children in developing countries. The time they spent walking can now be spent in school or work, and ultimately changing their lives, and the lives of their families.
